#58 | Shuffle
Yesterday I ran an ultra through the Mara. This is me at the start—fresh and fired up. Today I’m ruined, hungry and shuffling.
When lolloping along, I had plenty of time to contemplate what to do when things are a struggle. Especially at ~45 km, when I was in a reeaaal lousy way: The horizon looked gloomy, the wind was in my face, and my legs hurt.
I realised that patiently persevering is the best approach. The simple fact of time passing changes our situation. Moreover, when being patient, appreciating even the little things is a beautiful distraction: Whether it’s the Mara or the morning coffee, the first frost or the sound of the rain.Â
So, that’s our thought of the day. If life is hard (and I hope yours isn’t), be patient, persevere, and appreciate the little things, even at 45km.
How’s your week been? LMK.
Live well,Â
